On Monday, May the 4th Grey Mountain Students will be receiving a special delivery! Check your doorsteps throughout the day for a package created and tied with love of learning. You will be receiving the next six envelopes containing the resources for our next 6 weekly themes! This week we are starting our Salmon Theme! Please wait and open each envelope at the beginning of each new week. Earth Week is here! Earth Day/Recycling is the first weekly theme that Grey Mountain Primary School students will explore together. Open up your learning boxes and have your Earth Week Envelope ready! Below you will find an Earth Day-Maker Space Challenge for all the students brought to you by Mr. Stevens ! This is such a fun ADST activity that allows us to Imagine, Make and Share! After you Imagine and Make your robot, please send photos of your completed robots to your teachers and we will Share yourrecycled creationshere!
Follow along with Ms. Coventry to get your Nature Journal ready for weeks of fun! You will find all of the materials in your learning box. You will find all of the materials needed in the brown envelope with the label Earth Day Recycling! Mrs. Coventry will be adding to your Natural Journals each week!
The dedicated team of educators at Grey Mountain Primary School have developed a whole-school plan to support the continuity of learning for our students. Our team has developed creative learning boxes for each student. The boxes will land on your doorstep on Thursday, April 16th. Theyhave been carefully curated by our whole team of educators to provide fun, engaging, and playful learning for our primary children. They have also been carefully packaged adhering to all safety guidelines, with love and care.
The boxes are filled with learning opportunities that can fit holistically into your family’s schedule; to be completed as you would like and allowing for you to choose what will work for you and your family during this time. Each week we will presenting new themes for our students. Our first themes are: Week1 : Earth Day/Recycling Week 2: Spring/Trees The remaining weeks will be distributed in the coming weeks. We can't wait for you to see the fun themes we have planned for the remainder of the school year! We will be positing about and sharing information to complement and support the creative learning boxes here on the website, so check back often!
We miss you too! What a lovely surprise this morning to find such a beautiful gesture of kindness for your teachers. I noticed that some students have posted hearts with notes for their teachers on the fence too!

Tedd Tucker is an illustrator and designer living in Whitehorse, Yukon. He recently visited Grey Mountain Primary School and shared his new Yukon Alphabet picture book. The students had a wonderful time asking him questions and creating animal cutouts!
This week we have had the opportunity to try kicksledding! We have snow, awesome trails, and kids that love outdoor learning at Grey Mountain Primary School. We are exploring how we can increase our outdoor learning time. We also think kicksedding promotes an active and healthy lifestyle for our students.
